Maine Radon & Water Treatment received a request to carry out radon remediation in this home located in Cumberland, Maine. The levels of radon gas reached hazardous levels.
After discussing various options with the client, it appears that an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) might be the best choice due to the house's unique structure, including three separate slabs, with the last two seemingly poured directly onto the ledge. Considering the presence of a deck at the back of the house, we would need to exit the system through one of the sides, possibly leading to a longer run. Additionally, there's a possibility of needing a mitigation system in the garage as there's a bedroom located above it. The client plans to purchase a radon monitor to assess levels above the garage and conduct a communication test. We provided the client with a radon water test and conducted a water quality test as well.
The levels of radon gas decreased following the installation. Another satisfied client.
