Radon Water Mitigation in Standish, Maine

A homeowner in Standish, Maine, contacted Maine Radon & Water Treatment to address concerns about their indoor water quality. We began by conducting a comprehensive water quality test to identify the best course of action. The test revealed radon levels of 46,659 pCi/L, which far exceeded Maine's recommended maximum exposure limit of 4,000 pCi/L.

 

After reviewing the situation, we opted to install the AlRaider 421-S50X Radon in Water Removal System. The AIRaider™ 433-S Series builds on nearly 20 years of proven effectiveness and reliability, offering added features like a built-in submersible 1/2 hp pump and an adjustable aeration timer, all controlled by a standard Square D pressure switch (40-60 psi range). The system also includes a UL-listed control panel, mounted solenoid valves, ¾” Quick Connect plumbing connection, 2" x 3" flexible coupling, and an auto shutoff valve/alarm.

 

The outcome? Consistently fresh, clean water straight from the tap. The client was present during the installation and was very pleased with the results. We conducted a water test after the installation and found that the radon levels had dropped to less than 150 pCi/L.

Radon Water Mitigation in Raymond, Maine

A Raymond, Maine school teacher, rightly concerned about their water quality, contacted Maine Radon & Water Treatment. Taking a proactive approach to ensure their water's safety, we conducted a comprehensive radon test. The results revealed a radon level of 9,726 pCi/L, exceeding Maine's safe limit of 4,000 pCi/L.

To address this elevated radon level, we implemented a two-pronged approach:

  • Sediment Filtration - We installed a sediment filter as the initial stage of the water treatment process.
  • Advanced Radon Mitigation - We then installed the AlRaider 433 radon removal system with a 20-gallon expansion tank.

To ensure a safe and efficient electrical connection, we also installed a dedicated breaker for the radon system.

 

The client was present throughout the installation process, which went smoothly. Additionally, for simplified future maintenance, we installed boiler drains and valves to facilitate effortless filter changes.
