A new homeowner in Saint George, Maine, contacted Maine Radon & Water Treatment with a proactive approach to their home's health. Prior to finalizing the purchase, they wanted to ensure the water quality – specifically regarding radon levels.
The initial water test results revealed a concerning radon level of 14,140 pCi/L, significantly exceeding Maine's safe limit of 4,000 pCi/L. Addressing this issue promptly was crucial to ensure a healthy living environment.
The homeowner actively participated throughout the installation process, which went smoothly. We installed an air well system to effectively mitigate the radon concerns.
The air well system is currently powered by an extension cord. To ensure a permanent and safe electrical connection, the homeowner is working with a licensed electrician to install a dedicated outlet. This collaborative approach prioritizes both system functionality and electrical safety.
The homeowner reported hearing the air well system functioning, indicating a successful initial operation. With the radon mitigation system in place, the homeowner can now move forward with peace of mind, knowing their new home offers a healthy environment.
